Beeswax Lip Balm

$6.00

Alarmed by the honey bee epidemic & frustrated by the lack of ways to help, three college buddies pooled their time and money to build 100 beehives from scratch to support the local ecosystem.  What started out on a whim has grown into a high-end purpose driven lip balm company that gives consumers a way to make a positive change on their world in several impactful ways.

Because of a thoughtful approach to product design, every purchase of Bee Bella lip balm provides funding to research the honey bee epidemic, sources only organic ingredients, ensures that farmers around the world are treated fairly and work in humane conditions, boycotts any ingredients tested on animals, and supports US manufacturing. Not to mention—the complex aroma profile, silky texture, and long lasting moisturization raise the bar on what consumers thought was possible from a lip balm.

Beeswax

Beeswax is produced by specialized glands on the honey bee. Beeswax forms a protective barrier on the surface of the skin. This barrier provides a film of protection against irritants while still allowing the skin to breathe which aids in protecting the tender skin on lips. Additionally, besswax has been shown to exhibit anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral properties.

Cocoa Butter

Cocoa butter, the major constituent in chocolate, is extracted from the cocoa bean. In addition to its velvety texture, pleasant fragrance, and soothing properties cocoa butter is used for the prevention of stretch marks, healing burns, and treating chapped lips.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba is a perennial woody shrub native to the semi-arid regions of southern Arizona, southern California and northwestern Mexico. Native Americans commonly extracted the oil from jojoba seeds for skin care. Cultivation of jojoba began in response to the ban on the importation of sperm whale products in 1971 because both oils are exceptionally effective moisturizers.

Argan Oil

Argan oil is rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids that deeply hydrate and nourish skin. Pure Argan oil is often used for those that suffer from eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea for its incredible moisturizing ability and effectiveness to unclog pores. Bee Bella sources argan oil from women's cooperatives in Morocco to support their social and economic welfare.  These cooperatives work within a UNESCO biosphere reserve that ensures the protection and reforestation of Argan trees.

Coconut Oil

Raw coconut oil is extracted from the kernel or meat of mature coconuts. As a triglyceride of lauric acid, coconut oil has a high affinity for skin & hair proteins that reduce skin damage.  Additionally, because of its low molecular weight and straight linear chain, it is able to penetrate deeply into the skin.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant that stops the production of free radicals formed when fat undergoes oxidation. Scientists are investigating whether, by limiting free-radical production, vitamin E might help prevent or delay the chronic diseases that are associated with these free radicals.  In addition to its activities as an antioxidant, vitamin E is involved in immune function, cell signaling, regulation of gene expression, and other metabolic process

Lanolin

Lanolin is secreted from the skin of sheep. Lanolin’s role in nature is to protect wool and skin against harsh climate, in addition to maintaining skin hygiene. Pure lanolin has been used by earlier settlers and modern day mountain climbers to treat and prevent chapped lips.

Rosemary Extract

Rosemary extract, and oil gathered from the leaf of the plant, and on its own it is used on to improve circulation and treat eczema. In Bee Bella’s formula rosemary works as a natural preservative, dramatically increasing the shelf-life of this all natural product.

D-Limonene

D-limonene, orange peel terpenes, has well-established cancer preventative properties that inhibit, delay, or reverse carcinogens from forming. Bee Bella uses d-limonene to prevent our ingredients from separating
